I'd like to see a forum on this board devoted to the various pieces of software we use, why we like them, how to get best results, etc.
Also to share coding tricks, resources, and whatnot.
:?: Anybody else? :?:

Okay, I use HomeSite 4.5 for editing html. Paintshop Pro for the images, Rnamit v3.1.1.1.C for changing file names, and Thumbnailer v5.6 for the thumbs. Cute FTP 4.0 for uploading, and Xenu for link checks. For TGP submissions I use the AI RoboForm v3.8, and my own semi-auto submission page which I will be posting this next week.

I can't strongly recommend enough that everyone should start using the Arles Image Creator (http://www.digitaldutch.com/arles/index.htm). It makes thumbs, resizes images, and even creates galleries plus it's compression quality is spectacular! You'll get 3kb thumbs at 10kb quality! And it also features a file renaming feature so you don't need an extra prog like Renameit.

Sorry if I sound like I'm spamming but (after Adobe Photoshop) this is the most indispensable webmaster tool.

I've been using Web Thumbnailer for a while to create thumbnails and a basic image gallery but this Arles program looks pretty good. Maybe I'll try it.

I upload with Cute FTP 3.5 -- I don't like the newer versions. I use Dreamweaver 4 for galleries, Image Optimizer for image compression, Photoshop 7 for logos, and when I submit galleries I use quickphrase for multiple pastings.

Here's one. http://www.thumbnow.com This little puppy will take a pic that's too big for a freeserver and cut it down to the max filesize. Got a series of pics that range from 100 250K? Server only allows 60K filesizes? Set it and run it. Voila! A set of 60K pics.

Sometimes when I get a pic that just won't become small enough, I crop out static parts of the pic such as backgrounds. Some pics have these gigantic backgrounds which aren't really neccessary.

Here's a  FREE CJ :D script. Runs online and has never been down while I've been using it.
http://cz2.clickzs.com/ Has CJ capabilities, 9 toplists, traffic counter, does several different types of CJ, etc. Run several sites off one login, etc. I've looked at a lot of CJ scripts, and I've never seen one that does more than this thing at any price.
I've got 3 totally different toplists running on Kikos with it.
You gotta put up a link to one of their paysites, or else give them an acknowledgement on your page.

If clicksz's server goes down, then you're fucked.

Well for now I wanted to just have the new forums......I think most are okay with that. But in the future as the site gets larger maybe I'll add some more if I demand. :D
